Mission among Indigenous Peoples:
the relationality gap

For missionaries, relationality has often been a pedagogical question. For Indigenous Peoples, it is an epistemological one.

My research asks how the Western separation of the knower from the known has shaped missionary encounters, and what becomes possible when Indigenous ways of knowing are taken seriously on their own terms.

This inquiry grows out of my experience among Innu communities and my work at the Centre on the Churches, Truth, and Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples.
