One of the few articles that made me happy about Nigeria these last days was carried by “Thisdaylive[1]“. I am really happy to read that in Nigeria there is a move towards religious Unity. Though it might not be uncommon in some parts of the country to hear that Christian and Muslims come together for a celebration but hearing that muslims attended Church services on Sunday is for sure not only a joyful thing but a positive development in a country where every religious group claims to be more authentic than the other.
Another reason why this move is quite commendable is the fact that it took place in Kano, one of the fiefs of Islam in Nigeria. I am overwhemed and wish that other Nigerians learn this lesson and open up their doors for more mutual relationship and understanding. I strongly believe that’s the only way we can move forward. By the way the two strongest religions in Nigeria are all monotheists which makes the dialogue possible and easy. Let love be the word in our mouth and let there be a mutual relationship between our different religious groups. One Nigeria, One God and Une Unity!
