Just think about this: You have heard that The Chinese plan to invade you with COVID-19-contaminated face masks. Is that not creepy? So, let’s assume it is true. But how can China do that? If it takes up to 10 days to send a cargo of medical equipment to the US, how long will it take to send it to Nigeria? Let’s say 15 days. And we have not talked about the time necessary to pack it and send it over. According to Oanh Ha, in a Bloomberg article published on the 20th of March:
“Einhorn, president of Brooklyn, New York-based Dealmed-Park Surgical, says the small quantities of critical medical supplies he has procured are sitting in warehouses for more than a week before they can get on cargo planes.
… The company is paying as much as $4,000 for a small pallet to be flown on commercial freight carriers such as DHL Worldwide Express, but it has been told products won’t get to the U.S. for as long as 10 days because of limited space.”[1]
And if we agree that it takes such long time to ship face mask, how can Coronavirus survive it?
Let’s look at the survival capacity of Coronavirus.
An article from the University of California, Los Angeles, published on March 20, 2020, on Science Daily, states:
“The virus that causes COVID-19 remains for several hours to days on surfaces and in aerosols, a new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found.
The study suggests that people may acquire the coronavirus through the air and after touching contaminated objects. Scientists discovered the virus is detectable for up to three hours in aerosols, up to four hours on copper, up to 24 hours on cardboard and up to two to three days on plastic and stainless steel.”[2]
So, how can the Chinese contaminate face masks and send it to kill us? How will it survive such a day? What will the Chinese gain if my grandfather dies in our remote village? I know you might have the answers.
I don’t care what you want to believe, but take some time to crosscheck what you share on social media to avoid sounding ridiculous. This is not rocket science!
Let’s all use our reasoning capacity at this moment of the pandemic to avoid creating an unnecessary stereotype of the Chinese. And thus, stop causing more problems than necessary to our human society, already bleeding from the hard knock received from this crowned virus.
And, as we are here peddling conspiracy theories, America has taken the bull by the horn by sending their own plane to bring home those allegedly contaminated face masks to share with its people.
