Have you seen that video in circulation where this pastor doctor Stella Emmanuel (whether she is a Nigerian or a Cameroonian is yet to be determined) is giving testimony on how Hydroxychloroquine and other drugs are curing covid19? And have you read the counter argument written by one Foodu, on circulation, too? I have my reservations for both the video and the counter argument. Call me a doubting Thomas but, believe me, it’s too early either to cry victory or foul.
To start with, I don’t trust any journal that is called far-right or far-left to be my last resort on any issue concerning society and policy. And the Breitbart News Network is described as «an American far-right syndicated news, opinion and commentary website founded in mid-2007 by American conservative commentator Andrew Breitbart, who conceived it as “the Huffington Post of the right”». This alone is problematic to begin with. But as I said, it is too early to call all their claims totally false or true.
However, there are so many facts that do not tally with the whole situation both in pro and contra-arguments.
So, with the little facts at hand, this is my stand on it:
I wouldn’t share both the video and the counter argument yet! This video was made yesterday (27th July) and you can’t expect any sound and scientific refutation in such a little period.
I tried searching for other sustainable arguments for or against this claim but it seems as I write this, no official journal has anything on it. Only blogs and partisan journals are spreading it.
And I scanned through their full 2 hours 58 seconds video, where many doctors and policy analysts struggle to prove a point you can’t, in good sense, call apolitical.
All I’m saying so far, is that this “White Coat Summit” they held on the Capitol Hill yesterday (and where this declaration was made) has so many beautiful facts to share but with all the speakers pointing at the same direction, it’s very hard to take any sustainable stand on it now.
So, I would prefer watching the development with kin eyes to be sure neither not to throw the baby aware with the bath water nor to accept the pill hook and sink.
